Jen forgot to mention all the other neighbors. The crickets and lizards and bees and wasps that the kids keep bringing to us as some kind of trophy.
And all the people around the village that hardly say hello until I say I am "figlio di Giovanna" after which they are instantly my best friends. My Mom was very popular around here. During the war she and her siblings performed (kid) theater shows in the main square of the village.

ReplyDeleteWe are unsure why these are still on the vine as the harvest is over. Perhaps they will be raisins or late harvest something?
